Traditional clothing is capable of imparting unparalleled amount of charisma. Tradition plays an important role in ensuring survival of a community. Similarly traditional clothing is an important ethnic feature of the community. Tradition refers to the passing down of elements of a culture from generation to generation, especially by oral communication.
Traditional male clothing ensemble incorporated a shirt, pants and waistcoat. The shirt was worn on outside pants fastened with colorful belt. The artistic fantasy and craftsmanship reached its peak in making female clothing marking the general ethnic character. In other words the types of clothing coming down from generations to generation is termed as traditional clothing. This type of clothings have marked its own place in the clothing industry. There exists numerous varieties of clothing items that comes under this category. Briefly describing few of them we can say that :
Folk dress is the traditional Indian dress that can be worn on all types of occasions. Folk dress has its own style and it enables one to become the center of attraction on any special occasion. Folk dress is made from optimum quality material. Folk dress is available in an medley of designs. Dhoti is the apparel particularly used in south Indian cities during summer season.
Kurta pyjama is generally made of cotton cloth and silk-cotton cloth. Kurta pyjama is designed and made in such a manner that it provides comfort to the wearer. Kurta pyjama consists of a pyjama and a kurta which is about knee height long. Kurta pyjama can be worn in day-to-day use, on family gatherings etc.
Turbans are generally associated with the Sikh religion. Sikhs wear turbans regularly. In an Indian wedding the male head members of the bride and bridegroom also wear turbans as an tradition. Bandhani is the Rajasthan's traditional wear. Bandhani derived from the Hindi word 'Bhandhan', is the apparel with multiple colors and designs. Bandhani adds unmatched beauty to dressing and personality.
